The two years of B-School are among the most special in a student’s life. In those two years, the most unique time to be in the campus is during the annual fest.

For a management student, the college fest means much more than just another event on the calendar. It represents a time where he gets to show some ownership, where he gets to give something back to the college that has given him so much.

For SCMHRD, NEEV is that event. For years now, this annual event has been scaling greater heights every term and has consequentially become one the biggest fests in India. That alone should and must be a matter of pride for every SCMHRDian.

The event in itself has become such a gargantuan one due to the high involvement of students. Every year, the new batch surpasses the efforts of the previous one and this year too, the onus will be upon the 2012-14 batch to make their NEEV another memorable one.

So arise SCMHRDians.....be proud....strive for your NEEV.....and revel as eyes from rivals across the country turn to us with envy and awe.....be the reason for this year’s SURGE!!!

So… Why Quantum Surge?

      This is a question we all as NEEVers have faced ever since we unveiled the theme last month. Apparently we have just taken geekiness to a level never before seen. It doesn’t help that in the explanation of the theme we talk about quantum leap and bounce and normalization of the tunnel effect.

      Albert Einstein, made this quote once. “ If you cant explain something in simple words, you haven’t understood it”.

     Well, lets see if we have understood it.

    The main purpose of a Masters In Business Administration Degree, is the continuous creation of capable leaders for the world of tomorrow. Our understanding so far, is that leaders have been identified as having two very important traits. There are plenty, available in every management book, but two prominent.

        Shackled by rules, bogged down by bureaucracies, aristocracies and now even democracies, our final output lacks the spark. Today I ask you, Do you still have that spark? Today I ask you… Do you realize if you do?

                Let me assume that this is true. Let me assume that the sparks of creativity are festering in you now. Will you then stand? Will you then stand tall? Will you then rise…

                Unfortunately for us, we do have a few who step up on these fronts. We, though, have none who can bow. We have none, who channel this into where it is needed the most. Yet we have everybody, who knows what these places are.

             Thus, Creativity and Courage have been identified as the two most important traits in a leader. We, have identified a third equally important trait. Compassion.

            At NEEV, we hope to culminate all three of these forces, to awaken every fibre of your being associated with them… to enable you to take a quantum surge.

A Tribute to the Junior NEEVer

Lost in the rooms adjoining the Neev room can we be found. Experiencing the inanimate thrill of being a call center agent.

The junior NEEVer is he, who sat back in the assembly hall and watched the senior team present the NEEV committee to him. He sat back in awe as he suddenly realized which committee he wants to join.

The junior NEEVer is he, who was locked in a room for what seemed like eternity as he endured entire freshman year of senior related, shall we say, “interactions”, in a few minutes.

The junior NEEVer is he who fought with his own batchmates in GDs and tasks as he strived to be the one selected.

The junior NEEVer is he who endured review after review of his performance and constantly felt guilty about not living up to a standard he felt was necessary in this exclusive cult.

The junior NEEVer is he who wants to carve out a spot for himself among this group of insane, fun loving, never say die attitude filled bulls, who continue to set a standard and precedent every single year.

The junior NEEVer is he who eats chingles. Ok that is just this year’s junior NEEVers.

This year’s Junior NEEVers are all this and much more.

Three months into our anointment into this cult called NEEV and it’s not hard to see the difference in ourselves. The best part is, even greater things now lay ahead. We have taken stress tests, cold calling rejections, and monotonous frustrations and are still here ready to rage.
